What Shall We Do With The Noxious Weeds?

Sung to the tune of:
What Shall We Do With the Drunken Sailor?

1. What shall we do with the Common Buckthorn? 3x
Earlye in the morning.

Get yourself a tree jack, yank it out! 3x
Earlye in the morning.

2. What shall we do with the Purple Loosestrife? 3x
Earlye in the morning.

Cut and bag the seed heads, paint on poison. 3x
Earlye in the morning.

3. What shall we do with Creeping Charlie? 3x
Earlye in the morning.

Grab it by the vine and pull the roots out. 3x
Earlye in the morning.

4. What shall we do with Spotted Knapweed? 3x

Put on leather gloves, hual that plant out! 3x
Earlye in the morning.

Melody: Traditional
Lyrics: Chris Soutter Copyright 2004

The Eddies presented the World Premiere of this new classic environmental song on Saturday, September 25 at the 25th Anniversary of the Maplewood Nature Center.

The song was conceived and created by Chris Soutter, who lives in our neighborhood. All the credit goes to her.

The audience seized the mood and sang along heartily as Chris and her son held up huge lyric boards for the crowd to follow. It was a big success.
